Livestock Buying/Returns Policy

In most cases, fish and coral for purchase in the shop will have had a “resting period” before they are put on sale to ensure healthy livestock.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer an automatic refund, nor guarantee a refund for livestock once it has been purchased. This is due to the sensitive nature of aquatic animals and the varying conditions which may result in ill health or death which is beyond our control.

 

Some shops may offer customers an unconditional guarantee, however we don’t, because in our opinion it is not in the interests of the livestock, nor does it serve the hobby to make replacements too easy, for the following reason: Most hobbyists do take their fish purchasing seriously, but as many aquatic shops find, some customers take a generous return policy as a green light to gamble on fish that they are unable to accommodate. If those fish get sick, mangled or die, the buyer gets more fish, the retailer gets a steady "customer", but the fish of course pay the price!

 

Fish that have been in the shop 10 days or less are only eligible for a refund 48hrs after purchase. If anything should happen to your fish, then the specimen, plus a water sample should be returned to the store with a valid receipt. Refunds are given on the discretion of the store manager and will dependant on water test results.

 

Fish that have been in the store for 10 days or more, are considered "rested" fish, which means they are healthy and feeding well. No refunds will be given on "rested" fish, should anything happen to them after they have left the store. Customers will be informed by staff if they are buying a "rested" fish, also most tanks are marked with the date the fish came into the store.

 

Full or partial refunds are given in the form of a credit note to be spent within the shop for wet goods only. However, please be advised that any credit note issued will be at the full discretion of the sales manager.

CREDIT NOTES: Please be advised that from the 1st January 2013, all credit notes must be used within 12 months of issue.
